Rodents

We'll help you choose a pet based on your experience and home conditions, and find safe housing, food and everything needed for care.

Rodents

Which pet should you choose?

Some are active by day, others strictly nocturnal, with lifespans ranging from a year and a half to fifteen years depending on the species (see the species cards below for details). We help you choose a pet, a cage or hutch, bedding, food and accessories, and explain basic care.

Ask a question

Each species has its own temperament, activity level and care requirements. Tell us how much time and space you can offer a pet, and we'll help you choose the right species, set up housing and pick a proper diet.

Preparing your home

Before you take a pet home, get the housing ready: a cage or container sized for the species, a drinker, wood bedding and food. How much room and which bedding a particular species needs is on its own page above.
